Professional Background

After finishing university I started working for FINEP (portuguese acronym for Research and Projects Financing) a public financial institution devoted to fostering science an technology in Brazil. There my first task was to draft, prepare and negotiate project contracts for funding. I was soon found by the legal department for my competence and efficiency and transfer there to work directly on the model contracts, MOUs and larger projects. I stayed 2 years there before being called by my previous boss to help her in São Paulo in her new project at IPT ( portuguese acronym for Institute for Technological Research). There I worked with her in the International Relations department organizing several events on Brazilian science and technology in Brazil and Abroad. We also worked on several partnerships between IPT and many of its counterparts worldwide, including, US, China, Germany, France and others.
in 2004 I decided to return to school and applied successfully for a master in international law in Switzerland. Arriving in Geneva in september I started working as soon as january 2005 in ITC ( International Trade Center) where I stayed for almost 3 years helping its programs on commerce statistics. My work there war very varied and so were my responsibilities. I worked both to develop the content on international trade statistics and to helping project development specially in drafting MOUs and contracts.
After that and having finished my master I helped a NGO called WTPF (World Trade Point Federation) with its content, analyzing it and making recommendation on new partnerships to expand it.
In the beguinning of 2008 I returned to Brazil where I was soon invited to open the International Department at Santos e Tostes Advogados Associados. During this last two years we developed an important name in immigration and Foreign Direct Investment in Brazil. We also cater for all any foreign company may need in Brazil.
I have performed as well several consultancy contracts with UNCTAD on the topic on Foreign Direct Investment in Latin America.
